Preschool Open House

Last night was open house at Katie's school. The evening started with a precious concert put on by the kids. Katie class performed Warm Wendall and The Wise Man & the Foolish Man.

Then it was off to her class to see what they have been working on. Katie was so proud to Andy her scrapbooks and art work posted around the room. I think Andy was equally as proud to see it all. She has had such a great year in pre-school, I am so glad she has one more year at this wonderful school!

WONDERWILD

The kids and I had a great morning out at a new indoor play area called Wonderwild. It was a little bit of a drive but with the discount we got for going with our play group it was worth it! Both kids had a great time playing together. Their favorite part was the "kid power" train. Katie stepped up and moved her and Jack around the track several times... Jack was in heaven! After a little initial reluctance Katie really warmed up to the huge bouncing pillow and bounced herself silly! Jack tried to be brave, but decided he was safer in my lap!

Visit from the Sheldons

Well the Sheldon Family arrived late on Thursday after lots of travel
excitment due to the ash from the Icelandic volcano!

After a very early start due to jet lag Friday morning the older girls
headed to Disney on Ice! The girls (and moms) loved it and both chose
trinkets to bring home. The afternoon was spent playing in the back
yard (well Jon, Katie, and Jack had a nap as well)!

Katie and Sophia are sharing a room and are already acting as if they
are long lost best friends! Lots hugs, holding hands, and general
declarations of love. Jack has even managed a quick kiss for Keira!

Saturday morning we headed out early to the Kemah Boardwalk for some
carnval ride fun. All kids and parents had a blast. We were very proud
of Katie & Sophia for riding some on their own!

The Sheldons set off for Galveston for their cruise to Mexico and the
Fishers had a nice lunch on the water before squeezing in a couple
more rides before the journey home.

Happy Day!

Today starts a great new routine... carpool! For weeks now I have been struggling with Jack and Katie's late afternoon T/TH school pick up... but no more! It is 1:45 and I would normally be heading out (or driving around) to pick Katie up at 2:00. Jack would be cranky and ready for a nap and I would be exhausted from trying to keep him happy.

But thankfully today we started carpooling with Kim & Ryan! I am taking the kids in the morning and Kim will pick them up. Thanks to Kim (and my new wheels), my T/TH stress is gone and I can actually enjoy the fact that Katie is in school and I have time with just my little man.

We had a great morning out playing with friends and a little shopping followed by lunch. Then home for nap on Jack's terms! As he is now happily dosing in his bed, Katie will be delivered to me and then we can have some, to put it in Katie's words, bestest girls time!

Spring has sprung

Spring is here and it is a beautiful time of year to live in Houston! We were guided to a beautiful patch of bluebonnets just outside downtown and had a wonderful photo session opportunity!

We are busily getting ready for baby number 3's arrival in about 7 weeks time and Katie can hardly wait. She is very excited about having another little brother but apart from my growing mid-section I don't think Jack suspects that is world is about to be turned upside down! It is so hard to believe that he won't be the baby of our house much longer.

After battling colds, coughs & just general winter sickness, we are all healthy and spending as much time outside as possible before the summer heat wave hits. The backyard swing set built last fall has quickly become the place and has proven to be a great investment.

Jack had a great 15 month check up and was 75% for height & 50% for weight (long and lean like his daddy...)

Katie is preparing for her 2nd dance recital, so each week we are seeing improvement in the classes two dance routines.

We are very excited that Jon, Anneline & their girls are coming to visit this week, so baby preparations will be put on hold temporarily while we entertain our guests!
