What's up Jack

Jack is starting to enjoy having play dates of his own! Little Reece is already running circles around him, Jack take note!

Jack has decided it wont be necessary to crawl because his reach is so good and big sister is always there to bring him toys!

He has been enjoying standing at his new toys and if he really needs to get somewhere, he can always just roll!

Back to School

We went to Katie's school to meet her new teacher, Mrs Merrell. Katie is appropriately in the "Pink" class this year and has a very nice class. There are 4 PK-3 classes and they will rotate rooms throughout the year so they can enjoy all that each class has to offer. They have an open door policy during the class day, so there will be lots of interaction with all the kids.

The best part of being in pre-school for me will be the drop off procedure... I no longer have to get Jack out of the car to drop her off and pick her up! Although I will miss those few minutes when I used to just watch her in the class room before she saw me.

Jet Lag Stinks

Well we have been home from the UK 5 days now and are finally all getting back into Central Time. The time change was hardest on Katie, altough we all felt her pain!!! Poor Andy came home a few days before us, got himself back on Houston time then had to deal with the 3 of us a few days later, but I am happy to report now both kids slept (ish) till 7:30 this morning and both seem to be napping now.

We had a wonderful trip and got to catch up with lots and lots of family & friends. We packed as many visits as possible, without actually making the kids live in the car, as we could in two weeks. One of our last visits was with our old mom's group. All the kids (round 1) were born with in about 6 weeks of each other, so it is so much fun now to see how they all have grown, changed and stayed the same. Everyone now has a little brother or sister, so we got to meet lots of round 2 babies as well.

Grandma & Grandad's Back Yard

We are throughly enjoying UK weather at the moment and trying to spend as much time out doors as possible. So when Penny offered to make our favorite dessert, a blackberry ring, we hopped the back fence and set out to pick the blackberries in woods. Katie carried the bowl and Jack tried to eat them, but we managed to collect enough and have a fun stroll in the woods.

Katie the Bridesmaid

Katie did a wonderful job as the bridesmaid for Louise & Richard. She walked down the aisle with Andy which brought a tear to both our eyes. After she warmed up she was a little ham for the camera and paraded around the reception showing off her new slippers. She was able to stay awake long enough to be toasted by the bride and groom and have one little dance with mommy. She then asked if it was nap time and fell asleep in the car on the way back to the B&B where Jack was already tucked into bed with Nana.

Wedding Photo Shoot

Well I took the kids to picture people this morning for a little pre-wedding photo shoot. With help from Sherri (thank you so much!!!) it was a success! Katie and Jack charmed everyone in the studio. As mom predicted, Jack’s outfit will have to be washed before the wedding, but luckily Katie’s is still pristine. It was also a good dress rehearsal and Katie is excited now to dress up, in her words, fancy!

Fun times at CEC

Took the kids to Chuck E Cheese this morning. Jack was completely entertained by all the activity going on and Katie even managed to share a couple of rides with him. Today was probably as good as it is going to get for this sort of activity. Jack will be crawling soon and then he and Katie will be fighting over the tokens! Can't wait!
